Kegonji Temple is the only temple outside the Kinki region of the 33 temples of the Saigoku region. It is known as the final destination of pilgrims who have made a pilgrimage to Kannon sacred sites throughout Japan.
Kegon-ji Temple is said to have been founded in 798 by Oguchi Dairyo.

Kegon-ji Temple has a vast precincts, and there are many highlights. In addition to the main hall, Daishido, bell tower, temple gate, and other halls, the inner shrine houses the Oizuri-do Hall, where events such as shojin-otochi carp and pilgrimages are held, and the eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva, a secret Buddha. , has a triple tower.
