The Naoshima Plan "Water" is a work by architect Hiroshi Sambuichi located on Naoshima. It was unveiled at the 2019 Setouchi Triennale and is currently on permanent display.
It was built by renovating an old folk house that was built about 200 years ago. Taking full advantage of the north-south continuity that characterizes old folk houses, a water basin filled with well water has been installed in the courtyard.

The water basin is underground water pumped up from Naoshima's underground water vein, and about 2 tons of water gushes out each day. Visitors can experience the purity and coolness of Naoshima's water by touching the basin with their hands or putting their feet on it.

The Naoshima Plan ``Water'' is a structure that ``relays'' the moving materials of Naoshima's ``wind and water.'' The wind passes through the atrium of the old folk house from south to north, and the water collects in a basin filled with underground water pumped up from a well.
