Located in Unnan City, Shimane Prefecture, this tranquil shrine is home to the giant Umichio-no-Katsura tree, which is over several hundred years old and has a circumference of 18 meters. It is a power spot filled with the vitality of nature and a sacred atmosphere.
Hibara Shrine is a quiet shrine that has been worshipped by the local people since ancient times.

Hibara Shrine is recorded as "Hihara Shrine" in the Izumo Fudoki, and has been revered as the guardian deity of this area since ancient times.

The deities enshrined are Ame-no-Hibara Oshinadominami, Wakatsukushime no Kami, and Ohirumemutinomikoto.

In and around the shrine grounds, there are a number of giant katsura trees that are said to be over 1,000 years old, and the most famous is the "Ushio no Katsura." This katsura tree has many trunks growing from its base, and its overwhelming vitality and presence captivates visitors. Its appearance is like that of a guardian deity of the forest, and it deeply moves those who see it.

Hihara Shrine and Umishiodori katsura are surrounded by a mystical atmosphere and are known as power spots. The pure air flows and the sounds of birds chirping and the wind resonate pleasantly. Especially in the season of new green leaves, the katsura leaves shine bright green, and in autumn the temple grounds are colored with beautiful yellow leaves. Standing under the giant tree, you can feel the greatness of nature and the eternal time, and refresh both body and mind.

[Trivia]
Umishiodori katsura is a valuable presence from an academic perspective and has been designated a national natural monument. The katsura tree is characterized by its heart-shaped leaves and is said to give off a sweet fragrance in autumn.
