Located at the south entrance of Naramachi, Shika no Fune is a complex that was created by renovating an old house. It was created with the aim of deepening exchanges with the local community and promoting the charms of Nara. The site is dotted with a tourist information center, souvenir shop, coffee shop, restaurant, and more, each with a different role. In an open space surrounded by nature, you can relax and experience the culture and food of Nara.

It is produced by Yukiko Ishimura, a space coordinator who is well known for "Kurumi no Ki".

Both Sasuga and Kamado are very stylish spaces and are popular with women.

[Differences between Mayu, Sasuga, and Kamado]

Mayu: It serves as a tourist information center for Nara, providing pamphlets and information. It is also a select shop that sells carefully selected souvenirs such as Nara crafts and food. It is a great place to stop by at the beginning or end of your trip.

Saezuri: A coffee shop offering breakfast, light meals, carefully selected coffee, tea, desserts, and more. There is also a menu using ingredients from Nara, making it a great place to stop by and take a break between strolls.

Kamado: A restaurant offering authentic Japanese set meals and seasonal dishes that make use of local ingredients such as Nara rice, seasonal vegetables, and Yamato pork. Recommended for those who want to enjoy a leisurely meal for lunch or dinner.
