Takebe Taisha Shrine in Otsu City is known as the Ichinomiya of Omi Province and is a power spot. It enshrines Emperor Yamato Takeru and is famous for granting good fortune, protection from misfortune, and long-lasting military luck.
Takebe Taisha is a historic shrine located in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, and has long been revered as the Ichinomiya, the highest-ranking shrine in Omi Province (present-day Shiga Prefecture). The main deity is Yamato Takeru no Mikoto, a heroic deity who appears in the Nihon Shoki. For this reason, it is worshiped as a god of good luck, protection from misfortune, and long-lasting military fortune, and is said to be especially good to visit when competing or trying something new.

The grounds are spacious and enveloped in a solemn atmosphere. The vermilion-painted shrine building is beautiful and gives a sense of the weight of history.

In addition, there are many famous power spots scattered around, such as the "stone" where Yamato Takeru is said to have sat when praying for victory in battle, and the "Gosui" spring, where holy water springs up. In addition, Mount Takebe stands behind the shrine, and it is surrounded by rich nature. You can enjoy beautiful scenery in every season, and it is especially crowded with many worshippers and tourists during the cherry blossom season in spring and the autumn leaves in autumn.

In addition, Takebe Taisha Shrine holds various religious ceremonies and festivals throughout the year, and the Senkosai Festival in September is particularly famous as a heroic festival that commemorates the departure of Emperor Yamato Takeru on his expedition to the east. At this festival, you can see a portable shrine being carried across the Seta River on a boat, and it attracts many spectators.
