Tsutenkaku is an iconic Osaka landmark, the first of which was built in 1912, and the current second-generation tower was rebuilt in 1956. It was registered as a tangible cultural property on May 15, 2007.

Along with the surrounding area known as "Shinsekai," it strongly retains the good old Osaka folk atmosphere. Tsutenkaku's charm lies in its Showa retro exterior and the 360-degree panoramic view from the observation deck, which is 103 meters (currently 108 meters) high. From the observation deck, you can enjoy the dynamic cityscape of Osaka, not only the bustling streets of Shinsekai spreading out below you, but also the buildings of Abeno Harukas and Umeda, and even Osaka Castle in the distance.
For an additional fee, you can experience the thrilling "jump-out observation deck" and "special outdoor observation deck."

"Billiken-san," the god of good fortune, is enshrined on the observation deck of Tsutenkaku. It is said that if you stroke the soles of his feet, your wishes will come true, and many tourists line up to touch them. Statues of Billiken are installed not only on the observation deck but also all over Shinsekai, so it's fun to look for them. On the observation deck floor, you can also enjoy exhibits introducing the history of Tsutenkaku and the surrounding area, as well as recreating nostalgic Osaka scenery.

At the top of Tsutenkaku, there is a neon sign that changes color. This also serves as a weather forecast to let you know the weather for the next day. The forecast varies depending on the color, with white being sunny, orange being cloudy, and blue being rainy.
