The biggest attraction of this roadside station is its location overlooking Lake Biwa. From the rest area, you can fully enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Hiei and the Lake Biwa Bridge on the opposite shore. In particular, the sunset over Lake Biwa is beautiful at dusk, creating a romantic atmosphere. It is a popular viewing spot where many people stop by during their drive, but also visit to enjoy the scenery.

The core of this roadside station is a direct sales store that offers a wide selection of fresh agricultural products and local specialties from Shiga Prefecture. The store offers a wide selection of delicious foods unique to Shiga, including Omi rice, seasonal vegetables and fruits, and the traditional fermented food funazushi. There are also plenty of products that are perfect for souvenirs, such as seafood products that make use of Lake Biwa's waters, local sake, and Japanese sweets.

At the restaurant, you can enjoy dishes that make use of the bounty of Lake Biwa and ingredients from Shiga Prefecture. You can enjoy gourmet food that can only be tasted here, such as dishes using Biwamasu and Moroko, which are endemic to Lake Biwa, and Omi beef menus. You can also enjoy light meals such as soft-serve ice cream while feeling the breeze of Lake Biwa from the observation deck.

This is the closest roadside station to Kyoto city, so you can use it for sleeping in your car while sightseeing in Kyoto. It is about 45 minutes by car from here to Kyoto city.

Nearby is the super public bath "Spa Resort Ogoto Agaryanse". However, the admission fee is expensive. It is open until 1am. There is a recliner corner with a TV and massage chairs, so it is recommended to relax and relieve fatigue.

If you want a cheap super public bath, there is "Mizuho no Yu" on the opposite bank across the bridge. This one is cheaper. However, there is a fee to go to the bridge (Rainbow Road) and it costs 200 yen one way. It is closer from here to the roadside station Kusatsu.
