In spring, Somei-Yoshino and weeping cherry blossoms color Kasumigaike Pond, in summer, the fountains and deep greenery bring a cool feeling, in autumn, the maples and Enkianthus campanulatus turn red in autumn, and in winter, the snow hangings accentuate the beauty of the garden. Seasonal illuminations are also held, and you can enjoy the mysterious atmosphere in the evening.
Built by the Maeda family of the Kaga domain in the Edo period, the garden's name means a garden that possesses the six characteristics of the Tang Dynasty of China (vastness, serenity, human power, ancient times, water springs, and views). Historical buildings and teahouses are also scattered throughout the garden, conveying the Edo atmosphere to the present day.
