Hakusan Shirakawa-go White Road is a 33.3 km long toll road that connects Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture to Shirakawa Village, Gifu Prefecture. The deep valleys, views of Mt. Hakusan with its remaining snow, and the tunnels of fresh greenery created by alpine plants along the road provide an exhilarating driving experience. As the road curves at an altitude of about 1,000 m, you can see the World Heritage Site of Shirakawa-go Gassho-style village below.

Fukube Falls, located at the midpoint, is the most famous spot on the White Road, boasting a drop of 86 m. From the observation deck near the basin, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the water spray. The two-tiered waterfall is reminiscent of a gourd, and its name comes from this shape. It is accessible in a few minutes on foot from the parking lot (P5).

You can also park your car in the parking lot and enjoy walking or trekking.

In the autumn, the 900m difference in altitude makes it a great place to view the autumn leaves as they change color over the course of about a month. In the early morning and at dusk, the light and shadow create a fantastic landscape that is popular with photography enthusiasts.
