Hakuba Ski Jump Stadium was the venue for the Nagano Olympics. From the observation deck, located about 140m above ground, you can see the gates from which the athletes jump out and the magnificent Hakuba mountain range. This is a rare spot where you can experience the impressive ski jump up close.
Hakuba Ski Jumping Stadium is a historic site located in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, which was used as the venue for the ski jumping competition at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. It is still an active venue where international competitions are held, and its biggest attraction is its huge scale and the overwhelming view from the starting point where the athletes start up close. From the starting point, which can be reached by changing lifts and elevators, you can see the magnificent scenery of Hakuba Village and the majestic Hakuba mountain range below you.

From the observation deck of the Start Tower, you can look down on the entire jump, from the gate just before the athletes take off at speeds of over 90 km/h to the landing barn where they land. By experiencing the perspective of the athletes, you will be able to feel the sense of speed and the magnitude of the thrill.

On the third floor of the Start Tower, there is the "Olympic Gallery" which displays materials related to the Olympics, where you can look back on the history and memories of the Nagano Olympics.

[Trivia]
Hakuba Ski Jumping Stadium is a complex built for the Olympics, with a normal hill with a K-point of 90m and a large hill with a K-point of 120m, the only one in Japan that meets international standards. The elevators in the stadium are the same ones that athletes actually use, so you can feel like an athlete. In addition, on the way from the lift station to the observation deck, there is a place where you can see the Olympic flame up close.

[Useful Concerns]
Hakuba Ski Jumping Stadium may suspend operation of lifts and elevators due to snowfall in winter. Be sure to check the latest operation status on the official website before visiting. Also, the observation deck is located at a high altitude and can be windy, so we recommend that you take proper measures against the cold depending on the season. Depending on the weather, visibility may be poor and it may be difficult to see the view.
