There is a ropeway that runs from the 7th to 9th stations of Mt. Chausu, the main peak of Nasu. It takes about 4 minutes to travel the 1,200m difference in altitude to the summit of Mt. Chausu, which is 1,896m above sea level in the Nasu Plateau. It is a scenic spot where you can get a panoramic view of the majestic Nasu mountain range.
The Chausu-dake Nasu Ropeway is a convenient means of transportation that takes you up to the 9th station of Chausu-dake, the main peak of the Nasu Mountains in Nasu Town, Tochigi Prefecture, in just about 4 minutes. From the ropeway windows, you can see the magnificent view of the Nasu Plateau spreading out below you, and you can feel as if you are enjoying an aerial walk. Since it is easy to access the summit at an altitude of 1,915 meters, you can experience the power of an active volcano up close even without serious climbing equipment. In particular, during the autumn foliage season, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the entire mountain dyed red and yellow, and many tourists visit.

Once you arrive at the 9th station by ropeway, there is a hiking trail to the top of Chausu-dake. It is a light hike of about 40 minutes one way, and you can see the rough rock surface of the active volcano and the fumaroles rising from the crater up close, and feel the heartbeat of the earth. From the summit, a 360-degree panoramic view spreads out, overlooking not only the Nasu mountain range but also the Kanto Plain in the distance, and the magnificent scenery is truly moving.

The Nasu Ropeway is a precious place where you can not only enjoy the scenery, but also experience the majestic nature of Nasu. You can enjoy the different faces of the seasons, from the beautiful fresh greenery of spring, the blooming alpine plants of summer, the fiery red leaves of autumn, and the fantastic snowscape of winter.
