Nagatoro Line Boat Cruise is a boating experience that takes you down the Arakawa River that flows through Nagatoro Town, Chichibu County, Saitama Prefecture, on a traditional Japanese boat. Located close to Nagatoro Station on the Chichibu Railway, the spectacular scenery of the "Iwadatami" rock formations, a designated national natural monument, and the thrilling rapids alternate, making it a popular activity for many tourists throughout the year. With the skilled boatman's skillful rod handling and guidance, you can experience the beauty of the valley and the powerful nature with your whole body.

The greatest attraction of this boat cruise is its varied scenery. In the slow-flowing areas, you can see the fresh greenery and autumn leaves that color the Nagatoro Valley, as well as the vast, strange rocks of the "Iwadatami" national natural monument, up close. In particular, the "Iwadatami" rock formations, as their name suggests, are flat rock surfaces that look like tatami mats laid out, giving you a sense of the earth's magnificent history. Meanwhile, in the rapids zone, you can experience the thrill of the boat descending while splashing water, and passengers cheer.

There are three courses: Course A, Course B, and Course C, which combines Course AB. The ride time for Course AB is about 30 minutes.

A free shuttle bus runs from the Nagatoro Line Boat Tour Information Center to the start and finish points.

The operating period is from early March to early December.
