The Yamanashi Prefectural Linear Exhibition Center is located in Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and is the only facility in Japan where you can observe the research and development and running tests of superconducting linear motor cars. You can learn about the principles and mechanisms of linear motor cars, a railway technology of the future, through exhibits, videos, and experience devices. In particular, on running test days, you can see the linear motor car running at 500 km per hour up close, and its overwhelming speed and power fascinates many people from children to adults.

The greatest attraction of this exhibition center is that you can watch the world's fastest linear motor car running up close. From the observation room in the outdoor "Wakuwaku Yamanashi Hall," the experimental line spreads out before your eyes, and you can capture the linear motor car running. In addition, at the "Dokidoki Linear Hall," where you can learn about the principles of linear, there is a levitation experience device and a running simulator, so you can experience the technology of linear motor cars firsthand.

[Fun fact] The world's fastest train speed under experimental conditions is 603 kilometers per hour, which was achieved on April 21, 2015 at the Yamanashi Maglev Test Line. This record is also recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world's fastest manned train speed.
