Ishiteji Temple is located in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, and is the 51st temple of the 88 Sacred Temples of Shikoku. It has a long history, and the grounds are dotted with the National Treasure Niomon Gate, the main hall and the three-story pagoda, which are Important Cultural Properties, giving a sense of the weight of history. The greatest attraction of Ishiteji Temple is not only its solemn historical architecture, but also the unique and distinctive art and objects scattered throughout the temple. Not only pilgrims but also many tourists are fascinated by its unique worldview.

The temple grounds are also home to auspicious spots such as the Kojuseki and Saiseiju Daishi, and are crowded with many worshippers.

Another attraction of this temple is that you can have a variety of experiences through worship and sightseeing. Within the grounds, there is the Mantra Cave, a cave where legends related to Kobo Daishi remain, and when you enter, a mysterious world unfolds.
