Futami Okitama Shrine is a shrine located in Futamiura, which has long flourished as a place of purification before visiting Ise Grand Shrine. Two rocks, one large and one small, floating offshore, called the Meoto Iwa, serve as a torii gate for worshiping the Okitama Shinseki, which is associated with Sarutahiko-no-Okami, and are considered to be symbols of marital harmony and good relationships. The rocks are tied together with a large shimenawa rope that is 35 meters long and weighs about 40 kg, and its divine appearance attracts many worshippers from all over the country.

Behind the main shrine is the legendary site of the Yaegaki fence, which is said to have been built by Susanoo-no-Mikoto when he defeated the Yamata no Orochi, and the Meoto Tsubaki, a couple camellia, a symbol of matchmaking, giving the shrine a sense of myth and nature being one. Many figurines of the Futami Frog have been dedicated in the precincts, and many worshippers come to pray for good luck such as "safe return," "return of what they have lent," and "regeneration."
