Located at an altitude of about 900m, this large, long-established campsite is famous for its free site in the forest with a clear stream flowing through it. Bungalows and cottages are also available, making it easy to use for family trips, summer camps, and beginners.
With a total area of approximately 15 hectares, it is one of the largest in Gujo City. Tents are available in free-form sites with car access, and ample shade is comfortable even in the summer. Choose from bungalows, cottages, and mountain lodges, with sites scattered along the babbling brook.
Hirugano Kogen Campground is a field where time by the water is the focus, with a clear stream running right next to the campsites. The babbling brook provides background music in the morning, while splashing around in the shallows or having a riverside picnic during the day and cooling off by dipping your hands and feet in the stream in the evening. At night, enjoy a bonfire surrounded by the sounds of water and a starry sky. Shady areas and grassy areas are scattered throughout, making it a safe and family-friendly spot. Even in summer, the air is light and refreshing, offering the refreshing feel of a highland. It's ideal for a relaxing stay by the water. The river is not too wide, and the flow is gentle, making it easy to keep an eye on children. Bring water shoes and a small chair for a comfortable base by the river. The river breeze passing through the tarp and the cool air of the morning mist are soothing, helping you forget the heat of the day.
[Recommended Nearby Tourist Spots]
- Hirugano Plateau Pastoral Village offers a variety of animal encounters, flower fields, and family-friendly activities.
- Hirugano Picnic Garden is a summer-only highland flower garden located at an altitude of 1,000 meters. Approximately 40,000 petunias, including "Pink Breath," one of Japan's largest, bloom at the summit. Enjoy a cool picnic on the kochia hill or on the terrace with a spectacular view.
[Useful Tips]
It can get chilly in the mornings and evenings. Dress warmly in spring and autumn, and wear long sleeves even in summer. Due to the high altitude, you should be prepared for sudden weather changes.
Strict silence is required within the site (music and musical instruments are prohibited all day). Nighttime fireworks are subject to time and type restrictions.
