Romantei is a Western-style building renovated from a Taisho-era photo studio. Climbing the stone steps, you'll find a nostalgic space bathed in soft light streaming in through wooden-framed windows. The seating is spacious and furnished with Scandinavian-style furniture, with windows overlooking the rooftops of the town's preservation district providing exceptional seating. The photogenic exterior is also popular.

The restaurant's menu focuses on the bounty of Maniwa, with dishes like the "Hiruzen Jersey Beef Hamburg Steak," the "Monthly Lunch," chiffon cake made with Yubara honey "Hyakka no Shizuku," and crème brûlée. The free-range egg TKG and in-house roasted coffee are also popular. After your meal, stroll through the swaying noren curtains of Katsuyama's streets.
