Located at the southern end of Toriimoto-juku, a post town on the Nakasendo road, this charming restaurant is a renovated old house from the end of the Edo period. The interior, with its beams and earthen walls, is tranquil, and some seats offer garden views. The "hidden" feel, passing through narrow road alleys, also evokes a sense of travel. The vestiges of cultural heritage and the dignified atmosphere of this soba restaurant combine to make a meal itself an experience of the region's history.

The restaurant sources whole buckwheat and grinds it in-house using both hand-milled and electric mills. The 100% buckwheat noodles are kneaded with spring water, and each type offers a different flavor, from the elegant aroma of the maru-nuki (Sarashina-style) to the robustness of the hiki-gurumi (country-style) ground with the shell still intact. In addition to the basic mori (topping) and kake (soba-style) dishes, the restaurant also offers grated yam, herring, kakiage (tempura), sobagaki (buckwheat pancakes), and other dishes. In winter, they also serve Nagano's local "Touji Soba." They even have a "tasting day" where you can enjoy different varieties of soba from different regions, satisfying the curiosity of soba lovers.
