Nagoya's first urban park during the Meiji period. Its symbols include a fountain tower, a concert hall, cherry blossoms, and a rose garden, and the Tsuruma Garden cafe is also a great option. Just one train ride from Sakae and Nagoya Station, this urban oasis is perfect for photography and picnics.
Tsuruma Park, the city's first park, opened in 1909. Its eclectic Japanese-Western landscaping is a highlight, with a formal Western-style garden centered around a fountain tower to the west and a Japanese garden dotted with Kochogaike Pond and iris fields to the east. The park, designated a national monument, conveys Nagoya's modern history and horticultural culture to the present day. Cherry blossoms bloom in spring, followed by roses and irises in early summer and autumn, creating a vibrant landscape for seasonal photos.

The iconic fountain tower is Roman-style, designed by architect Yoshitsugu Suzuki. The elegant Sogakudo Concert Hall, illuminated in the evening, with its dome and Ionic columns, also serves as a venue for concerts and photo sessions. The park is also home to a group of shops under the Park-PFI project "TSURUMA GARDEN," offering convenient cafe breaks and takeout during strolls. The Tsuruma Park Cherry Blossom Festival is held during cherry blossom season, adding a touch of elegance to the illuminations.
