Tenguyama and Tengu-no-Minamiyama in Tamano City are low mountains, but they are dotted with rocks and chain sections, and offer a spectacular view of the beautiful islands of the Seto Inland Sea. This hiking course will tickle your sense of adventure, and you can enjoy the nature of the four seasons.
Tenguyama (162m above sea level) and Tengu-no-Minamiyama, located in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, may not be high in altitude, but their varied hiking trails and amazing views attract many hiking enthusiasts from Okayama and beyond. There are many scenic spots where you can look down on the islands floating in the blue waters of the Seto Inland Sea, and the views from the rocky mountains and large rocks are particularly impressive. Some hiking trails are well-maintained, but there are also thrilling elements such as rope sections and steep rocky areas, so even low mountains can be enjoyed as full-fledged mountain walking. As long as you are careful of rocky cliffs, even elementary school children can enjoy the adventure.

There are many unique rocks along the hiking route, and you will be amazed by the beauty of the natural formations. You can feel even more adventurous by not just looking at these strange rocks, but actually passing through and climbing them.

From the trailhead at the Tsutsuji-no-Oka Toilet parking lot, it takes about 45 minutes to Tenguyama, including breaks, and about 1.5 hours from the trailhead to Tengu-no-Minamiyama. On the way back, it took about 30 minutes from Tengu-no-Minamiyama to the Tsutsuji-no-Oka Toilet trailhead without breaks.

There are many rest points because there are rocky areas with beautiful views everywhere, but there is a large single rock at the top of Tengu-no-Minamiyama, so it is recommended to have lunch there when the weather is nice and cool.

[Useful points of concern]

Most of the hiking trails are paths overgrown with ferns. It is better to wear long pants and long sleeves. There are some slippery areas, so sneakers or hiking boots are recommended.

The toilet at the Tsutsuji-no-Oka Toilet parking lot is not a flush toilet, so it is fine for men, but women would be better off using a convenience store or roadside station.

Although it is relatively safe, there is a cliff below the boulders, and in some parts of the narrow path there are steep cliffs that are hidden by ferns, so special care is required when letting children roam freely.
