Located in Aki District, Kochi Prefecture, this is the 27th temple of the 88 Shikoku Pilgrimage. Its attractions include a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and a solemn atmosphere surrounded by giant trees over 450 years old.
Komino-ji Temple is the 27th temple of the 88 sacred places of Shikoku, located in Yasuda-cho, Aki-gun, Kochi Prefecture. It is located on the middle slope of Mount Komino-yama at an altitude of about 450 meters, and is built in a place with a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean from the temple grounds. As a temple associated with Kobo Daishi, it has been worshiped since ancient times, and the approach and grounds lined with giant cedar trees over 450 years old are enveloped in a solemn and mysterious atmosphere, giving visitors a sense of silence and peace.

The greatest attraction of this temple is the majesty of the scenery and its historical depth as a sacred place associated with Kobo Daishi. From the main hall and Daishi-do Hall, you can see a panoramic view of the blue Pacific Ocean and Cape Muroto in the distance, and the magnificent view attracts not only pilgrims but also many tourists. In addition, the group of giant cedar trees gives a sense of the strength of life and is also attracting attention as a power spot. Because it is located on high ground, the air is clear and you can feel as if your body and mind are purified.

Kannomine-ji Temple is not just a place to enjoy the scenery, but also a place where you can experience the culture of Shikoku Pilgrimage and the history of Japanese faith. By walking the pilgrimage route, you can feel the hardships and thoughts of the pilgrims of that time.

[Useful points of concern]
You can drive up to the temple, but the mountain road is very steep and winding for a long time. It's fine if there are no oncoming cars, but the road is narrow, so it is difficult to pass other cars. It's fine for people who are used to driving, but if you are not, there are some dangerous places so you need to be especially careful.
It is dangerous if there are many passengers in the car, if you have heavy luggage, or if the tires are worn out or the ground is wet, as there is a possibility that the tires may slip.
