Senjojiki, located in Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, is a grassland that spreads across a plateau at an altitude of 333m, and is attractive for its spectacular view of the Sea of Japan below. You can enjoy the exotic scenery with rows of wind turbines for generating electricity.
Senjojiki is a vast grassland located at the northern end of the Mukatsugu Peninsula. As its name suggests, it is about 1,000 tatami mats in size, and the view of the Sea of Japan from the 333m high ground is breathtaking. In particular, the contrast between the blue sky and sea and the huge white wind turbines gives you a sense of openness as if you were visiting a resort overseas. At dusk, the windmills become silhouettes, and the crimson sky and sea create a fantastic atmosphere, attracting many tourists and photographers.

Within the premises, there is a grassy area where you can enjoy picnics and leisure activities, where you can relax with your family, couples, or friends. Another attractive feature is the change in the seasons, such as rape blossoms in spring, deep green in summer, and swaying silver grass in autumn. At the cafe "Country Kitchen" on the premises, you can enjoy the spectacular view while savoring snacks and drinks made with local ingredients. It is also a great rest spot during a drive, where you can refresh yourself while enjoying the beautiful scenery and pleasant breeze.

The high ground has a wide grassland where you can enjoy the majestic nature. If the weather is good, the scenery is refreshing and nice, so it is recommended as a date spot.

In one corner of the site, there is the "Senjojiki Kogen Campground", where you can stay in a tent for 1,000 yen per tent. You can spend the night watching the fishing fires and the starry sky, and the early morning sunrise over the sea is also exceptional.

[Trivia]
The windmills installed in Senjojiki were built as part of Nagato City's renewable energy efforts. There are nearly 20 of them, and they have become the symbol of Senjojiki.

[Hidden Spot Information]
At "Higashi Ushirohata Rice Terraces", about 30 minutes by car from Senjojiki, a light-up event for the terraced rice fields is held from late May to early June. The fantastic scene of the fishing fires, sunset, and rice terrace lights is a must-see.
