Todoroki Kujuku Falls, a hidden gem in Kaiyo Town, Tokushima, has been selected as one of Japan's 100 best waterfalls. Located in a valley with a series of large and small waterfalls upstream from the 58m Todoroki Hontaki waterfall, this is a famous spot where you can enjoy hiking along the footpath, soaking up negative ions, and taking photos of the falls all at once.
Todoroki Kujuku Falls is the collective name for a group of waterfalls along the Oyoudani River in Kaiyo Town. The thunderous main waterfall, Todoroki Hontaki (58m), lies behind Todoroki Shrine, located at the entrance. Upstream, a series of distinctive waterfalls, including Niju-no-taki (Fudo-taki), Fudo-taki (Fudo-taki), and Yokomi-no-taki (Yokomi-no-taki), form a cascading succession. Selected as one of the "Top 100 Waterfalls of Japan," this scenic spot offers refreshing summer temperatures and stunning autumn foliage. The dynamic waterfalls and rising mist are truly impressive when viewed up close.

Todoroki Shrine and Ryuo-ji Temple enshrines the waterfalls as sacred objects, making this area one of Shikoku's most powerful spots.

The approximately 1.5km walk from Hontaki to Nabewari-no-taki (Nabewari-no-taki) at the top takes approximately two hours round trip along the well-maintained walking trail. As you ascend and descend over boulders, root-strewn paths, and wooden steps, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the valley and multi-tiered waterfalls. Distance signs are posted at key points, making it easy to pace yourself. Because the natural scenery remains intact, there are many places where you can get close to the waterfall basin, allowing for breathtaking photo opportunities, but be sure to watch your step.
