Located in Naka-ku, Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, the Yumeji Local Art Museum is a museum that specializes in exhibiting the works of Takehisa Yumeji, a painter, poet, and designer who was active from the Meiji to Taisho periods. Yumeji, who was born in Oku District, Okayama Prefecture (now Setouchi City), made a huge impact with his unique portraits of beautiful women, known as "Yumeji-style beauties," and continues to have a major influence on the modern day. The museum houses and exhibits a wide range of Yumeji's works, including oil paintings, Japanese paintings, prints, illustrations, and bookbinding designs, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of his artistic worldview.

In the adjacent "art café Yumeji," a space designed by Eiji Mitooka, you can enjoy a delicious hayashi rice made with ingredients from Yumeji's hometown of Okayama, such as rare Chiya beef, Ushimado mushrooms, and Okayama rice "Kinumusume," as well as baked sweets with raisins, which Takehisa Yumeji loved to eat.

On the way to Ushimado on the Blue Line, you will find Takeshita Yumeji's birthplace and the Yumeji Local Art Museum Annex. However, it takes about 30 minutes by car.
