Okazaki Castle, known as the birthplace of Tokugawa Ieyasu, is a castle park where history and nature blend together. Follow in the footsteps of local heroes and immerse yourself in the romance of history.
Okazaki Castle, located in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, is known as the birthplace of Tokugawa Ieyasu in Tenbun 11 (1542). The current castle tower was rebuilt in Showa 34 (1959), and the interior is a historical museum where exhibits are displayed, including the life of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the exploits of the Mikawa samurai, and the history of Okazaki Castle. From the top floor, you can see the Okazaki city area, the surrounding nature, and even the distant mountains, and you can relive Ieyasu's perspective as he aimed to unify the country.

The spacious grounds of Okazaki Park, where the castle is located, are dotted with attractions such as a bronze statue of Ieyasu, the Mikawa Samurai Yakata Ieyasu Museum, and the teahouse "Jonan-tei." In particular, in spring, the park is a famous cherry blossom spot, and many visitors come to see it, enjoying the contrast between the beautiful cherry blossoms and the castle. In addition, the park sometimes hosts performances by the Great Ieyasu "Aoi" warrior corps, making history even more personal.

It was demolished during the Meiji period and rebuilt in 1959 using reinforced concrete.
There is an admission fee to enter the castle tower and Ieyasu Museum, but the interior of the castle can be viewed for free.
