Hozan-ji Temple is an ancient Shingon Buddhist temple located on the middle slope of Mount Ikoma. It is affectionately known as "Ikoma's Shoden-san" and is said to grant blessings for business prosperity and academic success.
Located in Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture, Hozan-ji Temple is a sacred place of worship for the deity Shoden (Kankiten), which was opened by the priest Tankai in 1678. The temple is characterized by its layout that blends in with the nature of Mt. Ikoma, creating a solemn atmosphere. In particular, the main hall, Shoden-do Hall, and pagoda have been designated as important cultural properties, which shows their high historical value. The cable car ride up the steep mountain path is also one of the attractions, as it gives you a sense of the extraordinary.

Hozan-ji Temple is known for its blessings such as business prosperity, and is particularly revered by businessmen in Osaka and Nara. In addition, the "Shishikaku" (lion pavilion), which is open to the public for a special period, is a rare Western-style building for a temple, and its unique appearance is also one of the attractions.

There is a free parking lot at the first parking lot just after entering the Shigiikoma Skyline. A little further on, there is a second parking lot.
