Jiyuken Namba Main Branch is one of Osaka's oldest Western restaurants, founded in 1910. It has deep ties to Naniwa culture, having appeared in a novel by author Oda Sakunosuke.

Their signature dish, the famous curry, is made with hot rice and curry roux mixed together, with a raw egg dropped into the center. The Jiyuken way is to crumble the egg just before eating and add a little Worcestershire sauce.

The interior of the restaurant has a retro, old-fashioned atmosphere, and it is bustling with locals as well as tourists.
