Shiratakiyama is a 227m high mountain located in the northern part of Innoshima Island, which belongs to Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and is also known as "Kannonyama." It is designated as part of the Setonaikai National Park, and its greatest attraction is the 360-degree panoramic view from the summit. This view was even praised by the poet Isamu Yoshii.
One of the highlights of Mt. Shirataki is the "Five Hundred Arhats." During the Bunsei era in the late Edo period, local stonemason Kashiwabara Denroku and his apprentices created stone Buddha statues of various sizes from the Niomon Gate to the summit. Although they are called the "Five Hundred Arhats," there are actually about 700 stone Buddha statues scattered around, each with a different expression that attracts visitors.

Many stone Buddha statues are also enshrined near the summit, which combines with the beauty of the Seto Inland Sea's many islands to create a unique landscape. In addition, there is a stone Buddha called "Koishi-iwa" (Love Rock), and there is a legend that if you touch it, your love will come true, so it is also known as a power spot for love.
