Tsukishima used to have a thriving fish market, and because fresh seafood was easily available, Monjayaki developed there. Tsukishima Monja is characterized by the use of a rich variety of seafood ingredients compared to other Monjayaki. Another characteristic of Tsukishima Monja is that it uses ``Monja dough'' which has a chewy texture.

Typical ingredients for Tsukishima Monja include squid, shrimp, scallops, oysters, octopus, chikuwa, green onions, and cabbage. Toppings such as cheese and mentaiko are also popular.

There are about 50 monjayaki shops lined up.
