Tsuruma Park was the first park established by Nagoya City in 1909. Influenced by the Meiji era's Europeanization philosophy, it has both a formal Western-style garden and a stroll-style Japanese garden.

Tsuruma Park is known as a famous spot for cherry blossom viewing in spring, and has been selected as one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots. There are also many other attractions such as the fountain tower, concert hall, and Japanese garden.
