It is a limestone karst plateau located above the Akiyoshido Cave.
Autumn colors and rock formations make for a beautiful and unique sight at Akiyoshidai, a limestone plateau in Yamaguchi Prefecture.

The contrast between the white rocks and low-lying vegetation is particularly striking.

Visitors can reach Akiyoshidai by taking an elevator up from the nearby Akiyoshido Cave.

Once there, they can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape from the observation deck.

The road leading to the nearby tourist attractions of Daisen Cave and Safari Land is also a popular driving route with scenic views.

Every year on the third Sunday of February, a controlled burn is conducted on the plateau as part of traditional land management practices.
