Otaki Valley is located in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, along the Nio River, a tributary of the Tomoe River, and is recommended for families with children where children can enjoy water play and hiking.
The Nio River originates from Mt. Shoko and Mt. Rokusho and flows slowly through the foothills of the two mountains and the countryside. When you reach the scenic spot of Mt. Komi, the river flows 1.8 km downstream from here to the Tomoe River, which is the main stream, with a drop of 148 m.
The flow creates various gigantic rocks and oddly shaped rocks, creating Otaki Valley with a series of wonderful scenery. It is one of the most scenic spots in the prefecture, and is also called "Tokai no Shosenkyo".
The recommended way to enjoy Otaki Valley is to fully enjoy nature. From the promenade, you can enjoy the clear streams flowing from the huge rocks, plums and cherry blossoms in the spring, greenery in the summer, and the colors of the mountains in each season.
There is also a barbecue area and a grassy area with playground equipment, making it ideal for families and groups to rest and play.
