The Kannabe Plateau is a scoria cone formed by volcanic activity approximately 25,000 years ago, and the scenery there is stunning.
The Kannabe Plateau is a vast plateau formed by the lava flow of Mt. Kannabe, which erupted about 25,000 years ago. It is known as the only place in the Kinki region where you can visit the crater, and its unique topography is a distinctive feature.

The crater at the top of Mt. Kannabe has a circumference of about 750m and a depth of about 40m.

Mt. Kannabe is a beautiful mountain located in the center of the Kannabe Plateau, and the summit has a clear crater trace. There is a promenade around the crater, so you can easily observe the crater. From the summit, a magnificent panorama overlooking the Kannabe Plateau spreads out. It is an easy mountain to climb even for beginners, so you can easily challenge it as if you were hiking. You can enjoy breathtakingly beautiful scenery, especially during the season of fresh greenery and autumn leaves.

In winter, it is crowded with many people as a mecca for skiing and snowboarding. The vast slopes can be enjoyed by beginners and advanced skiers alike, and the high-quality powder snow is attractive. In summer, you can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as paragliding and trekking on the lush plateau, making it an ideal place for families or groups of friends to get away.

It is also one of the leading leisure resort areas in western Japan, with ski resorts such as Up Kannabe, Oku Kannabe, and Manba.

The Kannabe Plateau area is also an area rich in natural blessings. You can enjoy not only fresh local vegetables and fruits, but also gourmet food made with Tajima beef and buckwheat grown on the Kannabe Plateau. The hot spring facility "Kannabe Onsen Yutorogi" is also nearby, making it the perfect place to soothe your body after a day of activities.
