Imabari Castle has been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Castles.

Construction of Imabari Castle began in 1602 and was completed in 1608.

A flat castle facing the coast, it was one of the best sea castles in Japan, with a triple moat that draws seawater into the moat, and a port inside the castle that has one of the largest influxes in Japan.
