This is the headquarters of the approximately 1,500 Togakushi Shrines nationwide. Okusha Shrine is located on the side of Mt. Togakushi and is famous for its approach lined with cedar trees that are over 400 years old.
Okusha is the most prestigious shrine among Togakushi shrines and is visited by many worshipers.
It takes about 40 minutes to walk to Okusha. A certain amount of physical strength is also required.

There are free and paid parking lots, but there are only about 50 free parking spaces along the road, so if it's full, you'll have to use the paid parking lot.

The strawberry soft-serve ice cream served at Okusha no Chaya, the restaurant at the entrance, is popular.
