This aquarium, located in Kujukushima Pearl Sea Resort in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, allows you to experience the marine life of Kujukushima. The dolphin show and jellyfish symphony dome are popular.
Inside, fish, dolphins, jellyfish, and more are on display. Particularly popular are the exhibits that allow visitors to experience the richness of the ocean around Kujukushima, such as the largest jellyfish exhibit in Japan and a rare outdoor aquarium. The sight of 12,000 fish from 120 different species swimming is a spectacular sight.
The dolphin show is also one of Umi Kirara's most popular programs. You can observe the intelligence and athletic ability of dolphins up close. The "Interaction Program" where you can swim with dolphins is also popular.
In the jellyfish dome, various types of jellyfish float gracefully amid a performance of light and sound, creating a fantastical world.
In addition to the aquarium, you can also enjoy the "Pearl Pearl Experience" where you can experience pearl pearling, and the departure and arrival point of the sightseeing boat "Kujukushima Pearl Sea Resort" is adjacent, so you can enjoy both.
[Trivia] The name "Kujukushima" of the Kujukushima Aquarium Umi Kirara refers to the number of islands, which means "there are many," and there are actually 208 islands.
