The first morning event is held every day along the Miyagawa River in Takayama City and is one of Japan's three major first morning events.
The history of Miyagawa Morning Market dates back to the Edo period. Initially, it developed as a rice market, a mulberry market, and a flower market, and from the middle of the Meiji era, farmers' wives began arranging vegetables, and it came to be called the morning market.

Miyagawa Morning Market is one of Takayama City's major tourist spots. Every morning, local farmers and merchants sell fresh vegetables and fruits, pickles, processed goods, and folk crafts.

Similarly, there is also the “Jinya-mae Morning Market”.
