Goshikidai is a mountain that juts out into the Seto Inland Sea between Takamatsu City and Sakaide City.
It is said to be a mesa with multiple peaks and a wide flat surface, and its altitude is approximately 400 to 500 meters.

It is said that Goshikidai was named by Kobo Daishi after the five colors of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism.

Goshikidai is dotted with temples that are one of the 88 sacred sites in Shikoku, such as Shiramine-dera and Neko-dera.
