Located in Choshikei in the center of Shodoshima, Monkey Kingdom is a unique facility where you can closely observe wild Japanese macaques living in their natural environment. As the monkeys are free-roaming without any fences, they roam freely and sometimes even come close to the feet of tourists. In the feeding experience, you can throw food to the monkeys from a special hut or hand it to them, and you can carefully observe their expressions and behavior through interacting with the adorable monkeys.

The park is located in the mountains, rich in nature, and you can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons. In particular, during the autumn foliage season, the contrast between the groups of monkeys and the colored trees is beautiful and perfect for photography. The monkeys move around in groups, and you can get a glimpse of the daily life of wild monkeys that you don't usually get to see, such as baby monkeys being pampered by their parents and monkeys grooming each other.
