Maruyama Senmaida is a group of terraced rice fields on the southwestern slope of Mt. There are about 1,340 terraced rice fields in a valley with a height difference of 160m, and it is one of the largest in Japan.

In recent years, the number of rice terraces has been decreasing, but restoration and conservation activities have been promoted, and currently about 1,340 rice terraces have been restored.
