Located north of Lake Mashu, this mysterious emerald green pond is highly transparent. Fallen trees sink without rotting, creating a stunning view of the crystal clear water that is a must-see.
It is said that the groundwater of Lake Mashu springs out from here, and the water temperature is low at 8°C throughout the year. Fallen trees sink into the blue water like fossils without rotting, and the sight of vermilion-spotted Dolly Varden trout swimming through the gaps creates an indescribably beautiful scene.

The pond is surrounded by virgin forest, and nature remains untouched. The chirps of wild birds and the sound of the wind echo throughout the pond, and it is a place where you can enjoy nature in peace, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is a promenade up to the edge of the pond, and it is relatively easy to walk, but you need to be careful where you step because it is in nature. In summer, the contrast between the lush forest and the pond is beautiful, and in autumn, the autumn leaves add depth to the colors of the pond.

Kaminoko Pond is also popular as a "power spot" due to its beauty.

[Trivia]
It is believed that the water of Kaminoko Pond is connected underground to Lake Mashu. It is said that the underground water of Lake Mashu flows underground for many years and springs out here.

[Useful points of concern]
The forest road leading to Kaminokoike Pond is unpaved and in poor condition, so those who are unsure of their driving skills or have low-clearance vehicles should avoid it. In winter, the forest road is closed and cannot be accessed by car. Please be careful as the road conditions are likely to deteriorate immediately after the snow melts. There are simple toilets, but they may not be very clean. There are no restaurants or shops in the area, so we recommend that you prepare drinks and snacks in advance. There are some places where mobile phone signals are poor.
