Menya Kaijin is a popular ramen shop located near Shinjuku Station that specializes in salt ramen made with carefully selected dashi. Its clear fish-boiled soup and homemade rice balls are highly rated, making it a popular shop where you will inevitably have to queue.
Menya Kaijin Shinjuku is located on the second floor of Sanraku Building, a 30-second walk from the southeast exit of JR Shinjuku Station. Since its establishment in 2007, it has been serving "Aradaki Shio Ramen," which is made by simmering seafood and kelp for a long time, and has been selected as one of the "100 Best Ramen Shops in 2020." The restaurant is small but has a sophisticated Japanese-modern interior, making it a great place for tourists to drop in.

The signature dish, Aradaki Shio Ramen, features thin noodles mixed with a deep, flavorful soup made from several types of fish, including sea bream and yellowtail. The set that comes with grilled rice balls can also be made into soup chazuke, which is popular for its rich flavor and aroma that can be enjoyed twice. During dinner time, the menu also includes boiled egg toppings and spicy salt ramen.
