The facility of the Japanese sweets shop "Kanae Shojuan" is located in a vast rural area. It is a relaxing space where you can enjoy a Japanese sweets making experience, meals, and seasonal walks in the beautiful natural surroundings.
Kanae Shojuan Juchosei no Sato is a Japanese sweets theme park located in the hilly area of Otsu City, south of Lake Biwa. The vast site of about 20,000 square meters is dotted with the head office factory, Japanese sweets shops, teahouses, restaurants, and more, making use of the scenery of the Satoyama.

Fruit trees such as plums and yuzu are planted on the site, creating a beautiful landscape with flowers and greenery of the four seasons. You can enjoy strolling while feeling the seasonal changes of nature, especially during the spring plum festival and the plum harvest season.

You can receive direct instruction from a craftsman in the Japanese sweets making experience (reservation required). There is also a restaurant that uses local ingredients, a tasteful teahouse, and a bakery cafe that is popular for its freshly baked bean paste bread, making it a facility where you can experience "Japaneseness" with all five senses.
