Tokushima Castle is a flatland castle built on Mt. Ii, 61 meters above sea level, located in Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture. It was the residence of the Hachisuka clan, the feudal lords of Tokushima, from the Sengoku period to the Edo period. It is a contour-style castle with the main and second baileys surrounded by moats and earthworks.
After the Meiji Restoration, the castle was abandoned, and the stone walls and castle tower were demolished, leaving only the stone walls and no castle tower.

If you walk around the castle mountain, you can imagine what it was like in the past, as the stone walls and remains of the enclosures remain. The entire castle mountain is a natural fortress, and its sturdy construction earned it the nickname "impregnable castle." Within the park, you can enjoy history, nature, and traditional culture at the same time, with the restored "Otemon Gate (restored)" and "Tatsumi Tower and Kun Tower," the "Old Tokushima Castle Omote Goten Garden," famous for its dry landscape gardens, and the "Tokushima Castle Museum."

It has now been developed into Tokushima Central Park and serves as a place of relaxation for citizens.
