Mount Dan, towering over Teshima at an elevation of approximately 340 meters, is the island's symbol. The wooden observation deck at the summit offers a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view stretching to Naoshima, Shodoshima, and Yashima, making it a popular spot for photographing the Seto Inland Sea's many islands. A short walk south from the summit to the Okazaki Park Observatory offers sweeping views of Takamatsu city and the Ogijima and Megijima islands, and you can even enjoy a relaxing picnic on one of the benches. Enjoy sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing on clear nights, with the scenery changing with the seasons and time of day to satisfy your travel cravings.

Around Toyonomine Gongensha Shrine halfway up the mountain is the "Sudajii Forest," a natural monument designated by Kagawa Prefecture, dotted with giant trees estimated to be 250 years old. The mystical, primeval forest atmosphere, affectionately known by islanders as "Totoro's Forest," is another highlight of Mount Dan.

Mount Dan is approximately a 50-minute walk from Ieura Port. The mountain path is well maintained, so you can climb in comfortable shoes.
