Omaezaki Lighthouse is a chalk lighthouse that stands at the tip of Omaezaki City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and is one of Japan's oldest lighthouses. It was first lit on May 1, 1874 (Meiji 7), and was designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan on August 2, 2021, along with the former government housing. The interior can be viewed by climbing the spiral staircase, and from the top you can see the horizon of the Pacific Ocean and Mt. Fuji in the distance, making you feel the roundness of the Earth.

The interior of the lighthouse can be viewed by climbing the stairs, and it is open to the public as a public lighthouse. When you reach the top of the spiral staircase, you will be greeted by a 360-degree panorama. You can clearly see the majestic Pacific Ocean horizon forming an arc, and it is a spectacular view that makes you feel the roundness of the Earth. On a clear day, you can also see Mt. Fuji in the distance.

The area around the lighthouse is a grassy area, perfect for picnics and strolls. It is also a place where strong winds often blow, and the scenery of windmills lined up for wind power generation is also distinctive.
