Komame Shokudo is a retro restaurant renovated from a rice mill dating back to the early Showa period. Enjoy simple, delicious dishes made with freshly cooked rice from the rice terraces and local vegetables and seafood while gazing out at the terraced fields of Nakayama Senmaida beyond the window. Seating is available both inside and outside the restaurant, and lunch served outdoors is especially pleasant on sunny days and offers excellent photo opportunities.

The signature dish is the "Rice Terrace Rice Ball Set Meal." This plump rice ball comes with a small side dish, soup, and fried food, allowing you to experience the island's culinary culture all in one dish. Seasonal light meals and sets, such as somen noodles and olive beef burgers, are also available. In the fall and winter, reservations are required for "warigo bento" lunches, as well as takeout bento boxes (available from October to May), allowing you to enjoy a modern take on the kabuki bento culture.

The rice terraces change appearance with the seasons, from the rice plantings of spring to the greens of summer and the golden hues of autumn, making it a fun place to revisit along your island-hopping route.
