The Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins are the remains of a castle town in Fukui City that was run by five generations of the Asakura clan during the Sengoku period.
Japan's oldest flower bed and relics of the Asakura clan have also been discovered at the ruins.

The Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins is a rare site in Japan that retains the appearance of a castle town from the Sengoku period in almost complete form.

In the restored townscape of the ruins, you can actually tour the ruins of the Asakura clan's palace, samurai residences, temples, townhouses, and more.
