The enshrined deity is Amatsuhikone no Mikoto. In Japanese mythology, Amatsu Hikone no Mikoto is said to be the grandson of Amaterasu Omikami, the goddess enshrined at Ise Grand Shrine.

The precincts of Tado Taisha include the main hall, worship hall, Kagura hall, and Shinen garden. The main shrine is designated as a national important cultural property.
Especially famous is the Ageuma Ritual, in which young people become jockeys and climb over a 2-meter precipice.
