The Heijo Palace used to be the Daidairi of Heijokyo, and is registered as a World Heritage Site along with Todaiji Temple.
Today, there are restored buildings such as "Daigokuden", "Suzakumon", and "Toin Teien" on the vast site.

Although the Daigokuden is a reconstruction, it is an overwhelmingly large wooden structure.
In 2010, the 1300th anniversary of Heijo-kyo was held.

Even now, the Agency for Cultural Affairs is promoting restoration as a national project.

There are also gardens, exhibition halls, and museums.

In addition, there are many keyhole-shaped burial mounds in the surrounding area, and you can feel that this area was once an important place.
